This past summer I got to be a Coordinator for EFY in Calgary and Lethbridge. What an amazing blessing to work with such wonderful YSA and Youth. I miss EFY so much and working for them all year long would be a dream come true. One of my amazing team members - we called our team "Team Hot" made these videos about the head team. Yes we had nicknames. Yes they are accurate and awesome. I find myself watching these videos when i'm having a bad day, and today at work was for sure a bad one.
Please join me for a laugh!

Thanks October
October 29th 2012
How I love October. You ask anyone and they'll know it's my favorite time of year. I love them smells, the leaves, the sweaters, thanksgiving, halloween, boots, colours, pumpkins, cuddleing, blankets, early nights, hot chocolate, fires ahh the list could go on. How sad am I that it is almost over. Yet, even though it's coming to an end there are a few things this October that I am thankful for.
1. Got to go to General Conference with my sister and her husband. Got to connect with them both a little better and opened up about things I had never shared before.
2. Fall in love all over again.
3. Get my heart broken- you may wonder why I am thankful for that. Even though it hurts I know I am a better, stronger, believer because of him. He helped me learn to love myself even if he couldnt.
4. Temples. I was so lucky to go through the Calgary Temple open house 3 times. What a joy to be able to enter the Lords House a few times. I went with the people that matter the most to me and I am thrilled for forever.
5. Work. This month at work has been very testing for me, but hey working with teenage girls always is. I feel im getting pay back for being a pain in the butt to my own parents. Karma right?
6. Taylor Swift. I adore her songs and every single song of hers speaks to me. It's honestly as if she's taken my feelings and put them to a tune. Her new album RED is by far one of her best :D
7. EFY. I love love love EFY and have worked for them for the past 4 summers. Next summer will sadly be my last as you are only allowed to work for 5 summers. I learned a lot this past summer at EFY and dispite the hard times of running a program for 500 people I learned a lot about myself and what I want to do one day.
8. Weddings. If you have ever seen "27 Dresses" you have pretty much watched my life story (minus the whole being in love with your boss but then falling for the o so cute bad boy who doesnt believe in love and having your own happily ever after) Funny thing is her name is Jane also and she has red hair. NBD. I was honored to be a bridesmaid for Kayla and Braden Baker this month and go to the Regina Temple where they were sealed for time and all eternity. Being there and witnessing a true love like that makes me even more hopefull for my future and what I have to offer and what I want. It was also a time I got to reconnect with some great friends and make new ones. Win Win. Yay for December where I get to be a Maid of Honor for 2 gorgeous brides and their hubbys!
9. Parents. My parents were called as Temple Workers for the Calgary Temple. Their amazing example to me makes me want to be a better person every day. They are two of the most selfless people I've ever met and I am so happy the Lord gave me them to guide me through this life.
10. Cleanliness. Cleanliness is next to Godliness right? Gotta love a good Autumn clean out...still in the process of it and have some stuff to give away if anyone needs some purses/clothes...hmm once I'm done I may just have to go shopping to fill the empty spaces. YAY!
What are some things you're thankful for this October?

Calgary Temple Celebration
What a blessing yesterday was. Just when I felt that my week couldn't get any worse the Lord makes it a litttle easier to breathe.
Today marks the day the Calgary Temple is officially dedicated, and yesterday was the celebration for it. The youth of Calgary got together and created this amazing event celebrating Calgary and its history of the church. Elder M. Russel Ballard came with his wonderful wife and some members of the Seventy. How grateful to be in their presence. Our beloved Prophet was unable to attend but that didnt stop im from watching and sending us a wonderful video message saying how thankful he was for the youth. I was lucky enough to be in the YSA choir that sang along with the youth. Honestly it was hard not to cry. I saw many of my kids from the past years of EFY and I am so thankful they have something like this to hold on during times of struggle.
On the Wednesday before we found out the propeht wouldnt be able to attend. So instead we sang "We thank Thee o God for a Prophet." People - including me, filmed it and put in on YouTube and the Prophet saw it! how amazing is that!!
Here is the video. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Well done Youth of Zion. You are amazing. Thank you for inspiring me to be little better and stand a little taller :)

Red
Red
Loving him is like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street
Faster than the wind, passionate as sin ending so suddenly
Loving him is like trying to change your mind once you're already flying through the free fall
Like the colors in autumn, so bright just before they lose it all
Losing him was blue like I'd never known
Missing him was dark grey all alone
Forgetting him was like trying to know somebody you never met
But loving him was red
Loving him was red
Touching him was like realizing all you ever wanted was right there in front of you
Memorizing him was as easy as knowing all the words to your old favorite song
Fighting with him was like trying to solve a crossword and realizing there's no right answer
Regretting him was like wishing you never found out that love could be that strong
Losing him was blue like I'd never known
Missing him was dark grey all alone
Forgetting him was like trying to know somebody you never met
But loving him was red
Oh red
Burning red
Remembering him comes in flashbacks and echoes
Tell myself it's time now, gotta let go
But moving on from him is impossible
When I still see it all in my head
Burning red
Burning, it was red
Oh losing him was blue like I'd never known
Missing him was dark grey all alone
Forgetting him was like trying to know somebody you never met
'Cause loving him was red
Yeah, yeah red
We're burning red
And that's why he's spinnin' 'round in my head
Comes back to me, burning red
Yeah, yeah
His love was like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street
Faster than the wind, passionate as sin ending so suddenly
Loving him is like trying to change your mind once you're already flying through the free fall
