The past few weeks have been interesting. I got really sick again- this time strep throat on one side, tonsilitis on the other and a body bacterial infection which caused my body to be in so much pain it hurt to walk. Those few days of lying in bed were brutally boring. Glad I'm feling better now.
I've been really fortunate lately to meet some pretty cool people. I've been helping out with the EFY Counsellor interviews and went up to Edmonton to interview and then back down to Calgary to interview. It was a lot of driving in one day but I'm thankful I got to see my wonderful bestie Lanae who is currently livivng with her hustband in Edmonton. I love meeting new people. Especailly when we are both anxiously engaged in a good cause. It's gonna be tough to pick people to hire- which thankfully I dont make the final decision on cuz it would be tough!!
Previous to the interveiws I was again up in Edmonton to hang out with Lanae. I got some time of to go to Utah but when that fell through I decided to still have a bit of a break from work and go up there and visit. It was nice to just sit around and do nothing. To sleep when I wanted and catch up with Lanae. How thankful am I for her and the words of advice she offered. I've kinda been going through some personal things lately and without me even having to say a word to her , she knew what to say. I love that type of friendship.
My wonderful friend Chelsea and her husband Tom welcomed their first child into the world. Samson Kimo Clements and man is he ever a cutie! Meeting him was so surreal. That tiny child was in my bff's belly. My friend Chelsea is a mum. Chelsea, the girl who slept through seminary with me, who threw up out the side of the car on Glenmore, who helped my with my young and reckless ways and so much more....is a mum! And a damn good one she is too! Me and the girls all went up to their house for kisses and cuddles with the happy family. Being together with these girls sometimes makes me feel like the 5 of us had only just graduated and its like I forget for a second that we've not just graduated, 3 are married, 1 now has a child,4 are done schooling, 3 have travelled Europe. All have experienced heart ache, pain, love and true happiness. And throughout it all we have all remained the truest of friends. We've come a long way. How thankful am I for these girls in my life. Allie, Ashley, Britney, Chelsea- I love ya!
Tonight I went back to my childhood with the family and we all went to watch "Jurrasic Park" in 3D. I LOVE THIS MOVIE! I loved it as a child and I still do! Can't really go wrong with a classic now can ya. We even took little Lily-Mae, who for being only 3 years old, watched this movie like a champ! Even through the jumpy scenes she was able to enjoy the movie- and after decided to become a dinosaur. Defo a Blomfield there.
